Your Personal Injury Questions, Answered.
There are so many questions that you must answer following an accident or injury. It is easy to feel overwhelmed. At CrashLawyers.com we can help you answer those questions.
How long will my case take to settle?
Each personal injury claim is different and contains a unique set of facts and circumstances. There are several factors that go into the time it takes to settle a personal injury claim. Some of those factors include; facts of the accident, insurance coverage, extent of damages/injuries, medical treatment and evidence available, among others. It is impossible to tell you exactly how long your case will take. We can tell you that most personal injury claims settle without the need for a lawsuit.
How much will my case settle for?
It is impossible to predict exactly how much each case will settle for. Personal injury claims are very complex and their value depends on many factors. Before valuing a case we must gather extensive information about the accident, your injuries and your medical treatment. If an attorney is promising you a specific settlement amount for your case without knowing that information, you should be wary of him/her. We will make every effort to recover the maximum amount possible under the law and fight for what you deserve.
Do I need a lawyer to settle my personal injury claim?
No, there is no requirement that you hire a personal injury lawyer to handle your claim. However, you may not be able to maximize the recovery owed to you without seeking legal representation.
Can I afford to hire a personal injury lawyer?
Yes, you can. There are no up front costs for hiring our firm. Our personal injury cases are taken on a Contingency Fee basis. That means you pay us no legal fees unless we win you an award or settlement. Our fee and expenses are then paid out of the settlement received.
How can I protect myself after a car accident?
Be sure to call the police and ensure a police report is made, get the other driver's contact and insurance information and ensure that those involved in the accident are evaluated by a doctor or hospital as soon as possible. Do I have a claim if I was hit by an uninsured driver?
If you have Uninsured Motorist Coverage on your own auto insurance policy you may present a claim under your policy. In most cases you can present an uninsured motorist claim for medical bills, lost wages and pain & suffering. Think of your uninsured motorist coverage as stepping in for the uninsured driver who was at fault for the accident. Will I get to talk directly to my attorney?
Yes! Unlike many other personal injury firms, you will be talking directly with your attorney throughout your case - starting with your first phone call. There will be paralegals assigned to assist in handling your case, but you are always welcome to speak with your attorney. We do not outsource our clients to call centers or virtual receptionists, when you call us, you will be talking to a live person in our office.
Should I give a statement to the other driver's insurance company?
No. Do not give any statements (recorded or not) to the other driver's insurance company. No matter how much they seem like they want to help - they don't. Their job is to protect their insured - our job is to protect you. If you have given a statement to the other driver's insurance company tell us immediately.
